Notice Activision has removed the Call of Duty from the Modern Warfare title by naming this version Modern Warfare 2. Could this be the beginning of IW's own IP based on the CoD tech engine?

Or, could Activision and IW be moving away from all the negativity generated against the Call of Duty name by Treyarch and their Community Mangler's dismal performance?

the last nail in the cod5 coffin is a teaser for a game not expected to be out for 7.5 months.

Just hope they spend as much time on the game as they do the teasers and trailers. Obviously, Treyarch did not.

I fully agree... Activision/Treyarch has indeed screwed the pooch in the areas of support and communication. They created a wall of discontent and distrust the likes of which the PC Online Community has only seen once before and that was with EA and Stillborn.

I fear Activision/Treyarch's lousy performance has done irreparable harm to the Call of Duty name and franchise. People simply do not trust Activision any longer after the scam job Treyarch pulled;

The FG42 was in fact, active for those who purchased the collector's edition.

The game itself was broken and still shipped for sale to a "trusting consumer base". Activision/Treyarch took full unfair advantage of their loyal consumer's trust.

The double XP was destroyed by working dvars inadvertently left in the .EXE that allowed 100x XP.

The Canteen shipped is a useless, cheap plastic facsimile.

The "metal tin" (tin is a metal) the morons... is the only tangible item that was delivered as stated.

CALL OF DUTY = SALES

Anything that they put CALL OF DUTY in it, sells.
There most be some internal copyright or brand management
going on in there. They could be protecting the ¨Call of duty¨ brand,
just in case they screw it up (Hello Treyarch).
